Our Oakville started with neighbours looking out for neighbours.
It began as a WhatsApp group — a simple way for people in our neighbourhood to stay connected, share information and look out for one another.
At first, it was about neighbourhood safety.
But as the group grew, so did the conversations.
We realized that the things affecting our neighbourhoods don't stop at our property lines. Development. Traffic. Infrastructure. Safety. The environment. Energy. Taxes. Planning. The future of our community.
And we kept coming back to the same question: who is responsible?
Sometimes it's the Town.
Sometimes it's Halton Region.
Sometimes it's the Province.
Sometimes it's the Federal Government.
And often, it's more than one.
Too often, residents are left trying to navigate those lines themselves — or watching different levels of government point to someone else.
That's not what accountability should look like.
We don't need more blame.
We need clarity.
We need to know who has the authority to make a decision, what information is being considered, what residents are saying, and what happens next.
And we need to understand that our collective voice matters.
That's how Our Oakville was born
What started as a neighbourhood WhatsApp group is becoming something bigger: a place where Oakville residents can come together, understand what's happening, participate in the decisions that affect our community and hold every level of government accountable.
This isn't about telling people what to think.
It's not about supporting one political party or one candidate.
And it's not about being against government.
It's about making government more transparent, more responsive and more accountable to the people it serves.
The 2026 municipal election is where we begin
We want every Oakville resident to have access to the information they need to make an informed decision.
- Who is running?
- What does the position actually control?
- What are the candidates saying?
- What issues matter to residents?
- And, perhaps most importantly: who is responsible for what?
But the election is only the beginning
After the votes are counted, the questions don't disappear. Neither should our voice.
Our Oakville will continue to follow the issues that matter to residents — across our Town, Region, Province and country.
- We'll bring residents together.
- We'll ask questions.
- We'll share information.
- We'll listen to our community.
- We'll measure what residents are saying.
- And we'll hold decision-makers to account.
Because Oakville isn't just a collection of neighbourhoods. It's our community. And when we come together, we have a stronger voice.
Our Oakville. Our voice. Our government. Our accountability.
